1. Chrissy’s Response Laws 7 + 8

    Law 7: Emotion

“More Emotions are Better than Less”

Simplicity can be considered ugly or cheap in some cases. In making things increasingly simplier, we are striping them of decoration, and ornament which can be seen as “layers of meaning”. There is a balance that must be maintained to avoid the loss of emotion. Striping something down to the bare minimum can make it seem cold and frail. Sometimes it is necessary to dress things up, to give them unique personality. Simplicity offers clarity, but emotion offers comfort.

    Law 8: Trust

    “In Simplicity We Trust”

As technology becomes smarter, we gradually have less to think about ourselves, freeing our minds to be occupied with other matter than the mundane tasks that can be programmed and automated. This involves the risk of placing our trust into computers and devices and forfeits our privacy. Can we “lean back”, relax and trust these devices to simply make life simplier for us? If we entrust technology and we gain a consistant conveinence we are more likely to feel comfort in making the sacrifice of privacy.
